Gilt bronze hilt. Guard with one branch decorated with palmettes and laurel branches. Oval pommel, cap with a short tail. Horn handle, copper wire filigree. Curved blade with hollowed and gilded facets, engraved in relief with a cartouche decorated with foliage bearing the inscription on one side "The Artillerymen of Havre" and on the other side "To Captain Cardet Volunteer of June", length 80.4 cm, signed on the back "Manufre Rale de Châtellerault April 1848". Scarlet cloth knot. Steel scabbard with two bands, with a maker's mark near the chape "MANCEAUX À PARIS".

Good condition, the hilt retains all its gilding, missing filigree, blade with slight surface oxidation, scabbard oxidized but can be cleaned.
