PAIR OF OFFICER'S PISTOLS, 1833 model, second type, Pontcharra lock, July Monarchy. 29579R
All metal fittings in polished steel, walnut stock. Octagonal barrel in ribbon steel, slightly blued at the muzzle, length 20 cm, length with the breech 27.5 cm. Interior of the barrel rifled in a "hair" pattern. Trigger guard with a finger rest, lock plate known as "Pontcharra" or "back action" of the hammer and signed "Manufre Rle de Châtellerault R Lacoste". The barrels are dated "1845" and stamped "MR" (Royal Manufacture). Steel butt cap with its lanyard ring unscrewing to reveal a compartment for various accessories. Walnut grip slanted and checkered. Ramrod with brass head.
