One-piece dome, made of embossed steel sheet, pierced at its top with three suction holes (diameter 1.5 cm), stamped with size "57". Visor made of steel sheet edged with a 7 mm wide brass strip placed on the outer edge; underside covered in black waxed leather. Neck guard identical to the visor. Brass headband embossed in relief with a flaming grenade surrounded by laurel leaves.
Each chinstrap consists of a chin chain of 15 copper scales cut alternately in groups of three or two scallops, decreasing in width from the top scale, which is 3.5 cm, to the last, which is only 2 cm wide.
The right chinstrap is finished at its end with a small copper plate riveted with a copper buckle. At the end of the left one, there is a similar plate with a copper “D” attached, adorned with a black varnished calf leather chinstrap.
The top scale of each chinstrap is covered with a movable copper rosette, independent of the chinstrap. It is circular (diameter 4.2 cm) featuring four raised brass strips. The rosette is attached to the dome by a hinge.
Brass crest composed of two fins, a mask, and a cover.
Fins decorated with palmettes and a border line at the upper edge. The lower part forms a scalloped edge adorned with water leaves, attached to the dome with two screws.
A tin plate connects the upper edges of the fins, fixing their spacing.
The mask stamped with a relief head of Medusa. The cover, also stamped, represents the continuation of the hair of Medusa's head with intertwined snakes (length 9 cm).
Crest decoration made of a stamped sleeve with relief water leaves and a lens formed of two stamped shells. Attached to the front of the crest, supporting a scarlet pompon of tuft of horsehair, H 6 cm.
Black horsehair mane, approximately 57 cm in length.
Plume holder of stamped brass in tubular shape with a slightly decreasing square section towards the bottom, H 3.2 cm.
Interior lining consisting of a turban and a glossy black basane coif cut with eight lobes with brass eyelets.
