Presented in a brass frame measuring 5.8 cm in diameter, under glass, and in a recessed wooden frame, measuring 11 cm in diameter.

BIOGRAPHY:
François Bourlon de Chevigné Moncey (1780-1863). Enlisted in the 4th cuirassiers during the Empire, quickly rose through the ranks to become captain adjutant-major in the 1st cuirassiers regiment in 1813. Wounded at the Battle of Essling on May 22-23, 1809. Served as aide-de-camp to his father-in-law, Marshal Moncey, he joined the cuirassiers of the Queen and later the lancers of the Royal Guard during the Restoration.
He married the daughter of Marshal Moncey, Duke of Conegliano, in Paris on March 30, 1814.
Knight of the Legion of Honor in 1807, and a knight of Saint Louis in 1821.
