HISTORICAL BACKGROUND:
In 1810, what can be considered the first Infantry Military Academy in Spain was created, established under the name of the Bataillon de Volontaires d'Honneur of the Royal University of Toledo.
The uniform is worn with silver aiguillettes on the right shoulder (higher ranks were in gold) ending in two aglets. The aiguillettes were then extended to the rest of the Academy uniforms. For hussar uniforms, the aiguillettes are attached to the top button of the right lapel. For uniforms buttoning straight in the front, the aiguillettes are attached to the collar button.
