"I, the undersigned Lieutenant General of the armies of the King of France commanding the second division of the French Nobility that served in the defense of Maastricht under the orders of H.R.H. the Prince of Hesse, certify that Mr. the Marquis de Mauroy, Field Marshal, commanded the company formed from the province of Poitou with the valor and distinction expected of him.
