"We, Louis-Joseph de Bourbon [...]
order all those under our Command, and ask those to be asked to let Mr. de Biotière de Chassincourt, Knight of the Order of Saint Louis, a nobleman on horseback, freely pass, as he travels to Marburg and different places in Germany [...]."

On the back of the document, a handwritten note by Mr. de Biotière: "I have received my gratuity from the Treasurer and everything owed to me by the Quartermaster of the Regiment, as specified in this leave. Signed: De Biotière."
