Certify that Mr. Antoine d'Hardouyniau, captain in France in the Penthièvre Infantry Regiment, emigrated in the month of October 1791, participated in the campaign of 1792 with the army of the Princes brothers of King Louis XVI, served under our orders in the campaigns of 1794, 1795, 1796, and 1797 in Company No. 3 of the Noble Hunters, and having followed us to Volhynia*, continued his service in the 2nd column of the Noble Infantry Regiment until the day he resigned; Having been wounded in the battle of Mindelheim on August 13, 1796, the King, in consideration of his services and his wound, granted him a Major's commission, and he conducted himself with honor during his time in the Army, distinguishing himself with his zeal and courage.
In witness whereof, We have issued this certificate signed by Our hand, countersigned by the Secretary of Our Commands, and to which We have affixed the Seal of Our arms.
Done at Our Headquarters in Dubno, Volhynia*, on September 30 / October 11, 1798.
