KNIGHT'S CROSS OF THE ORDER OF CHARLES III, FOUNDED IN 1771, late 19th century. 29343
Knight's cross in gilded silver and enamel, with pointed finials, white enamel branch and deep blue enamel reserves, the fleur-de-lis with prominent central vein framing each branch, slightly domed centers showing on the obverse side the Virgin Mary in the mystery of the Immaculate Conception bordered by a blue listel, on the reverse side two "C"s facing each other and framing the number "III" bordered by the Latin legend "VIRTUTI ET MERITO" (to virtue and merit), with a bale made of two laurel branches. Ribbon made of silk with equal width vertical stripes in sky blue - white - sky blue.

Good condition, gilding rubbed in places, enamel accident and repair on one of the lower points.
