REPRODUCTION OF A GRENADIER TROOP SHAKO FROM THE 21st INFANTRY REGIMENT, model 1810, First Empire. 28536R
The body of the shako is made of sturdy cardboard covered in black felt. The top is made of black waxed leather. At the bottom of the felt, a leather sweatband is sewn on. The visor is made of leather bordered with a brass strip. A rhombic-shaped brass plate (or badge) is affixed to the front, cut out in the center with the number "21". The cockade is a tricolor lacquered leather, type 1814. The chinstraps are made of brass, with stamped grenade motifs, and the chin scales are stamped in a scalloped pattern.
The interior lining is made of sheepskin cut into wolf teeth pattern.
The pompon is a scarlet woolen spherical double-ball model from the Third Republic.
The braided scarlet woolen chinstrap is in good condition.
