Wooden case covered in black varnished leather, H 8 cm, upper width 19.5 cm, lower width 19 cm, depth 5 cm. Interior divided into two compartments. Leather sides encasing a half-oval brass buckle for attaching the banner. Black varnished leather strap, H 9.4 cm, upper width 21.5 cm, lower width 22.3 cm, hot stamped on the inside "61 / DE / 24", old scratched-out serial number (difficult to read) and other markings difficult to read.
Gauntlet (also known as a banner) in bleached buffalo leather with brass fittings, 6.2 cm wide, rectangular buckle with two brass prongs, slider and fleur-de-lis as well as a flaming grenade with chain pin attached to its lower part. Banner hot stamped with the 7th dragoon regiment "7thDons", serial number "1440" and dated 1842 "42", ink stamped "LOCATION CASSEGRAIN PARIS", handwritten ink inscription of the soldier's name "Mauger".

Good condition, varnished gauntlet case, strap attachment of the leather strap broken at its end, some wear on the leather of the case. Regarding the banner, the four fixing nails are later additions, leather tab securing the grenade replaced with modern brass wire, missing scabbard at the back of the banner to attach the bottom of the pin chain.
