DIVISION GENERAL’S BELT-SCARF, Second Empire. 29220

In mesh of gold and silk ponceau yarn, presenting six bands of unmixed gold and five bands of silk and gold, all equal in width and arranged alternately lengthwise. At the ends, two trapezoidal tassels are sewn: the heads covered with gold cannetilles applied in a checkerboard pattern, with a matte stitch, called “followed stitch”, slightly domed on both sides, bearing three stapled solid silver stars. The throats and skirts with long fringes have large matte cables.
