SABRETACHE TROOP OF THE REGIMENT OF GUIDES OF THE IMPERIAL GUARD, model 1854, Second Empire. 29173
Sabretache in black waxed leather. Back of the tab hot-dated “1861” and the initials “RDG” (Régiment des Guides) and hot-marked “61”. Interior pocket lined in brown canvas (H 23.3 cm, 17 cm wide at the top and 22 cm at the bottom). Flap covered in dark green cloth with aurora-dyed buffalo rush and saddle-stitched on the outer edge. Aurora wool framing braid, width 2.7 cm. A brass plaque stamped in relief and cut with the Great Imperial Arms is fixed in its center by means of a lace (H 16.5 cm, width 13 cm). Rectangular hanging rings with rounded brass edges.

It is completed with three line suspension straps in bleached buffalo with rectangular brass rings.

Very good condition, the suspension straps are vintage but the edges have been marked with a double hollow net to imitate the stitching of the Imperial Guard.
