BRIGADE GENERAL KEPI, model 1854, Second Empire
In madder cloth, with soutaches and gold braid, headband in black cloth, H 5 cm, bordered with a course of oak leaves, topped with a wand in golden sequins and cannetilles; in its lower part at the level of the visor, a false golden chinstrap is fixed by means of two wooden buttons covered with black silk (fancy model). Cap decorated with a Hungarian knot composed of three flat braids in golden threads. Square visor in black waxed and patent leather, lined with black morocco, and trimmed with a black lacquered calfskin bangle folded astride the outer edge. Inner headdress composed of a black waxed leather headband topped with a black silk headdress.
Very good condition, interior cover worn, disjointed but complete.
SKIRT TUNIC OF A BRIGADE GENERAL ATTACHED TO A STAFF, Second Empire.
Tunic skirt in dark blue, almost black cloth, closing straight at the front with a row of nine uniform buttons, large half-bell module in gilded brass stamped with a military trophy with shield stamped with the imperial eagle. Collar lined with black velvet in a rounded shape embroidered on either side with a winged staff thunderbolt, in gilded silver threads, cannetilles and sequins and scarlet silk threads. Straight cut facings garnished with two small module uniform buttons, peplums with false vertical pocket with two points each garnished with three large module uniform buttons. Black satin interior lining.
Very good to good condition, wear on the buttonholes.
PAIR OF BRIGADE GENERAL'S EPAULETS, Second Empire
Embroidered with twists and gold sequins. Body embroidered with a design depicting a V-shaped stick braid, bordered by a scalloped framing strip on black velvet; escutcheon decorated with a shield surrounded by foliage, garnished with two silver-plated stars. Fringes in large matte twists. The outline is made up of three turns: a large one in matte satin and shiny yarn rolled alternately on a cotton core; a second, interior, in small twisted matte Milanese, mixed with another simple shiny one; a third, of the same work, is applied below the thick one, at the beginning of the fringe. Black velvet lining.
Model 1850 uniform button (half-curved, burnished and matt gold, stamped in relief with the arms of general officers, plumed helmet surmounting a shield stamped with an eagle on a background of bundle of lictors and flags), fixed at the top of the epaulet body by a strong clip.
In a perfect state.
IMPERIAL GUARD OFFICER’S AGUILLETTES, Second Empire.
In gilded silver trimmings with gilded brass studs, decorated with crowned “N”. Attachment tabs to the black cloth uniform.
Very good state.
BRIGADE GENERAL'S GREAT DRESS SWORD BELT, Second Empire.
In leather lined with blue morocco and covered with a braid of blue wool mixed with four nets woven in golden threads. Stamped and gilded brass buckles each representing a head of Minerva, linked together by an S-shaped ring representing two snake heads. Sword holder identical to the belt, sewn to it.
Very good state.
BRIGADE GENERAL'S SWORD, Second Empire.
Gilded brass frame. Guard with a branch decorated with the sparkling spindle of Jupiter. Oval-shaped keyboard decorated with the uncrowned imperial eagle placed on a trophy of six flags of troops on foot with the eagle, with two silver-plated stars riveted on each side. Folding counter-keyboard. Cap decorated with an imperial eagle with outstretched wings. Copper filigree tortoise shell rocket. Straight blade with gutters, length 75 cm. Scarlet cloth tie. Black patent leather scabbard with two gold-plated brass fittings.
Very good condition, folding of the leather of the scabbard in the lower part.
BRIGADE GENERAL'S DRAGON, Second Empire.
Entirely in gold trimmings, decorated with two silver metal stars. Fringes with a large twist called “spinach seeds”.
In a perfect state.
