Round medal, in silver, engraving by Désiré-Albert Barre. Obverse presenting the effigy of the crowned Emperor with the legend “NAPOLEON III EMPEREUR” bordered by a wreath of laurel leaves. Reverse engraved with the inscription “CHINA EXPEDITION - 1860” and the battle names “TA-KOU, CHANG-KIA-WAN, PA-LI-KIAO, PE-KING”. Signed “BARRE”.
