PREFECT FULL DRESS COAT, model 1872, Third Republic. 28474
Dark blue cloth coat, wide-cut bib, closing at the bottom with three metal hooks. Edges of the coat embroidered with a rod in threads, cannetilles and silver sequins, straight on the outside and scalloped towards the inside of the coat. Breastplate richly embroidered with an interlacing of oak and laurel branches. Straight collar entirely lined with black satin, similarly embroidered to the coat with identical framing rod and interlacing of the same two branches. Identical embroidered facings, trimmed with a white satin cuff. Rollback and waist bow similarly embroidered, waist bow garnished with two large uniform buttons. Black silk interior lining.

Uniform in very good condition, some slight accidents to the embroidery, waist knot buttons: one from the prefect model in silver metal representing a bundle of lictors framed by a branch of oak and laurel, the second button is not from the model, it is a military admin worker button. Lining changed.
