HELMET OF FIREFIGHTERS OF THE COMMUNE OF F. FOURCHES, type 1830 modified 1852, Second Empire. 24161
Helmet made entirely of brass. Bomb with neck brace topped with a crest decorated with oak branches, struck with a decreasing series of nine gadroons separated by acanthus leaves. Mask hit with a flaming bomb. Each fin is attached to the bomb using three brass cone-head screws. Black hair caterpillar, it protrudes from the crest by approximately 10 cm. Back band stamped with branches of oak leaves. Fixed visor richly decorated with crossed axes, flaming bomb, oak and laurel branches. Neck cover and visor surrounded by a brass ring. Front plate stamped with an uncrowned imperial eagle placed on a terrestrial globe against a background of oak and laurel branches and a bundle of flags, in the lower part is represented a fire of barrels and barrels surmounted by two crossed axes. The plaque is framed by a ribbon bearing the inscription “Srs. F. FOURCHES FIREFIGHTERS.” H of the plate 12 cm, width 10 cm. Chinstraps each composed of a rosette stamped with gadroons in relief and a leather chin strap covered with a brass plate stamped with a series of scales stamped in relief. Tubular feather holder with slightly decreasing square section, complete with its tightening screw.

Fairly good condition, accidents and repairs on both sides of the bomb, front plate changed in 1852, plate fixing tabs re-welded later, original track belonging to this helmet, two crown screws changed.
