INFANTRY OFFICER'S SABER OF THE BELGIAN ARMY, type 1845, Second half of the 19th century. 29158

White zinc-type metal frame. Guard with two openwork branches of corollas of foliage and laurel branches. Short-tailed cap. Horn handle. Slightly curved blade with hollow sides, length 77.8 cm, signed on the heel “Auguste / Fonson / Bruxelles”. Scarlet cloth tie. Black patent leather scabbard with three tinned brass fittings, two bail bracelets, movable rings. Steel stinger.

Average condition, missing watermark, mount and scabbard fittings with wear and friction, blade with oxidation, used scabbard leather.
