Madder cloth headdress, H 4.5 cm at the front. Headband in black cloth, H 3 cm, braids in gilded silver braids, four braids are sewn horizontally above the headband indicating the rank, three braids sewn vertically at the front, at the back and on each side of the headdress, cap edged with braid and its center garnished with a Hungarian knot composed of three flat braids. False chinstrap in gilded silver trimmings, half-spherical buttons in gilded brass. Square visor in black patent leather, lined with a black waxed sheepskin, lined with a folded leather band astride the outer edge. Inner headdress with black and iron-gilded waxed leather band, cap lined with golden scarlet sheepskin “MILITARY EQUIPMENT / PEYROT AINÉ / 47 RUE Impériale 47 / LYON”.
