Entirely in golden trimmings, pair composed of an epaulette with soft fringes called "well ropes" and a counter-epaulette, with half-rounded golden buttons struck with a flaming bomb whose body is stamped with the regimental number " 6". Lined with dark green cloth.

HISTORY:
During the Franco-German War of 1870, having definitively regained its name, the 8th dragoon regiment fought furiously at Borny, Gravelotte, Saint-Privat then was blocked in Metz with Bazaine's army.
On November 26, 1870, the battle of Lorcy took place where 1 squadron of the 8th dragoons was engaged.
