Entirely in silver trimmings, pair composed of an epaulet with soft fringes called "well ropes" and a counter-epaulette, with half-rounded silver buttons struck with a flaming bomb whose body is stamped with the number of the regiment “8”. Lined with dark blue cloth.

HISTORY:
The 8th Cuirassier Regiment was part of the Army of the Rhine during the campaign of 1870. At the Battle of Froeschwiller it covered the retreat of the army by executing a heroic charge in the village of Morsbronn following which it lost two thirds of its workforce. He will also be present in Sedan.
