Cap and turban in fine madder cloth, headband in fine black cloth, silver grade soutaches, model after 1883. Small silver buttons, stamped with the flaming grenade, holding the false chinstrap in silver trimmings. Top of the cap decorated with a single-strand silver soutache Hungarian knot, typical of junior officers. On the front of the headdress, embroidered silver cannetille number of the 9th Cuirassier Regiment. Visor in black patent leather, lined with black morocco. Interior of black satin headdress. Interior headband in soft black leather.
