UNIFORM OF LIEUTENANT OF LANCERS OF THE IMPERIAL GUARD, model 1856, Second Empire. 26899

CZAPSKA
Black patent leather bomb, topped with a 3 cm high lizard-woven gold trimmings. Square flag and imperial in cardboard (20 cm x 20 cm) covered in sky blue cloth with golden trimmings. Each corner of the imperial is garnished with a golden brass corner, the right corner is garnished with a hook for the chinstrap and the rear corner is garnished with a ring for the racket cord. At the front, tricolor lacquered metal cockade, diameter 3.5 cm. Front plate in gilded brass stamped in relief with a radiant sun with in the center, attached, an "N" surmounted by the imperial crown, H of the plate 16 cm, width approximately 23 cm. On either side of the bomb are stapled two lion heads in gilded brass holding a curb chain in gilded brass with chiseled rings (diameter 1.5 cm) mounted on a sky blue velvet core. Visor in black patent leather with gold brass band folded astride the outer edge, width of the visor at its center 4 cm, width of the band 1 cm, lining in green waxed leather. Inner headdress in burgundy waxed sheepskin cut with eleven wolf teeth with scalloped edges.
H of hairstyle 20 cm.
“Weeping willow” plume in scarlet rooster feathers, H approximately 23 cm. Half-spherical wooden pompom covered with golden cannetilles, diameter 5 cm, lined with yellow silk and mounted on a brass rod folded in half.
Very good condition, Third Republic plume.

SNOWSHOE CORD
Cord in golden trimmings, composed of a long cord with attachment threads and ending in two rackets with soft fringed tassel called "well ropes".
Very good state.

HABIT says KURTKA
Kurtka in white cloth closing straight at the front with seven mother-of-pearl buttons, entirely sky blue piping. Straight collar in sky blue cloth with white piping, closing with two black lacquered metal clasps. Facings cut to the point in sky blue cloth piped in white, garnished with two small module uniform buttons, diameter 1.5 cm, in gilded brass half-bell stamped in relief with an imperial eagle. Back with belt tab in white cloth piped in sky blue with small module uniform button. Rolled up in sky blue cloth, false vertical pockets forming three points, white piped in sky blue and garnished in each point with a large module uniform button, diameter 2.1 cm. Four large module buttons are attached at the waist. Shoulder straps in white cloth covered with embroidery in gilded silver threads, cannetilles and sequins. Breastplate in sky blue cloth with white piping for full dress, it is attached to either side of the coat using fourteen uniform buttons and four hooks at the top. Interior lining in ivory silk and sky blue cloth.
Good condition, missing a mother-of-pearl button, a second unstitched button, missing a hook for attaching the plastron, a few moth holes and accidents mainly on the back, traces of dirt.

SHOULDER PAULETTES
Epaulet with soft fringes called "well ropes" and counter epaulette in gold trimmings. Small module uniform button in gilded brass half-bell stamped in relief with an imperial eagle. White cloth linings.
Good condition, trimmings of the body of the epaulette split horizontally and that of the body of the counter-epaulette vertically.

AGUILLETTES
Aiguilles in golden trimmings ending in golden brass studs decorated with crowned “N”s and laurel branches with upper part in the shape of an imperial crown. White cloth tabs at the top.
Very good state.

GIBERNE
Banner in calfskin covered in sky blue velvet, width 5.2 cm, covered on its exterior side with a braid of the same width in gold trimmings with three sky blue silk borders. This banner is completed with five gilded brass fittings, a rectangular buckle, a bar-shaped loop and a fleuron, as well as an oval radiant sun decorated in its center with an uncrowned imperial eagle topped with the imperial crown, these two last elements are linked together by means of three curb chains.
Wooden box covered in dark blue waxed morocco lined with sky blue velvet with the two sides in gilded brass receiving at the top a gilded brass ring for attaching the banner. H of box 7 cm, maximum width. 13.5 cm, minimum width 12 cm. The underside of the box is lined with a protruding golden brass nail for fixing the tab of the tab.
Slightly trapezoidal rectangular shaped tab with rounded lower corners, H 9 cm, width at the top 15 cm, width at the bottom 16.2 cm, in leather lined with dark blue waxed morocco, covered with a silver-plated brass plate and bordered a gilded brass wand (width 5 mm) stamped in relief with laurel branches. Center of the tab decorated with a radiant sun in gilded brass, on this sun a stapled gilded brass ornament representing the great imperial arms.
Very good state.

KNIGHT'S CROSS OF THE LEGION OF HONOR, 1852-1871.
Silver and enamel star with five double rays with dappled points enameled in white, framed by a branch of oak and laurel leaves enameled in light green. Gold obverse center representing the effigy of Emperor Napoleon I in profile, head to right, against a background of a radiant sun, bordered by a blue enamel scroll with the inscription in gold letters “NAPOLEON EMPEREUR” THE FRENCH ". Center of the reverse presenting the imperial eagle turned to the dexter, right wing passing behind its chest, bordered by a blue listel bearing the inscription “HONEUR ET PATRIE”.
Bail in the shape of a crown with eight beaded arches decorated with eagles, surmounted by an orb with an independent and movable cross, orb crossed by a smooth suspension ring. The crown has a hook inside to be passed through the suspension ball of the easel located between the two upper branches of the cross.
Scarlet ribbon.
Total height with bail 6.4 cm, diameter 4.2 cm.
Average condition, some accidents to the tips and enamels.

COMMEMORATIVE MEDAL OF THE ITALIAN CAMPAIGN, created in 1859.
Round in shape, in silver, representing on the obverse the effigy of the Emperor crowned with laurel, framed by the legend “NAPOLEON III EMPEREUR” and bordered by a laurel wreath. On the reverse, inscription “ITALY CAMPAIGN - 1859” framing the name of the battles of “MONTEBELLO, PALESTRO, TURBIGO, MAGENTA, MARIGNAN, SOLFERINO”. Diameter 3 cm.
Silk ribbon alternating six 4 mm red vertical stripes and five 2 mm white vertical stripes, it is bordered with a 1 mm white border.
Good condition, exposed ribbon.
