TUNIC-SKIRT OF BRIGADIER OF CUIRASSIERS, type 1868 Second Empire, 20th century reconstruction. 26998
Tunic in dark blue cloth closing at the front with nine buttonholes with half-rounded silver buttons stamped with a pomegranate. It is entirely piped with madder. Collar cut straight at the saxophone in madder cloth, H 4 cm, closing at the front with two black lacquered metal clasps. Straight cut facings in dark blue piped madder cloth, dark blue piped madder facing tabs garnished with three small module uniform buttons. Rank braids composed of two madder cul-de-dédé braids each 1.7 cm wide sewn at an angle above the sleeve facings. Shoulder straps in dark blue cloth lined with madder cloth. Belt tab in dark blue piped madder cloth closing with a small module uniform button. False vertical rear pockets forming two points garnished with three large-module uniform buttons. Tunic lined with ivory cloth and skirt of the 1868 model without lining (unlike the 1845 model which was until then lined with madder cloth). Madder epaulettes with soft fringes lined with dark blue cloth with ivory canvas label numbered “1141 / 158”.
