At the bottom of the bomb is a small ring where a brass chain (length 20 cm, thickness 3 mm) is attached to a ring at the top of the grenade flame. An oval buckle, known as a half-baguette, with a yoke in the middle and a pin at the top (diameter at the yoke 6.2 cm, same as vertical 7 cm; width of the wand 9 mm), serves to join the two ends of the strip, after it has passed through the two yokes of the cartridge case between their two rollers. A copper slide (apparent width 9 mm and 8 mm for hunters and hussars), secures the floating end, below the loop 5 cm. This slide is permanently riveted to the floating end. A small buffalo tab, pierced with a buttonhole trimmed on the inside edges, is sewn where the band is on the epaulette and turned towards the collar, it attaches to the epaulet button, to prevent the band to fall from the shoulder or slide in the direction of its length when passing the pouch forward or throwing it back (total length 5 cm; width 2.5 cm; protrusion outside the band 3 cm).
