UNIFORM OF THE IMPERIAL GUARD LANCIER TROUPE, model 1856, Second Empire. 26930

CZAPSKA
Bomb in black patent leather, topped with a white wool braid (3 cm). Pavilion and square imperial (19.5 cm x 19.5 cm) in cardboard covered in sky blue cloth with white wool soutaches. Each corner of the imperial is trimmed with brass. The two rear roofs each receive a sky blue lacquered brass aerator (diameter 1.8 cm). At the front, tricolor lacquered metal cockade, diameter 5 cm. Brass front plate stamped in relief of a radiant sun with an “N” in the center surmounted by the imperial crown, H of the plate 15 cm, width approximately 23 cm. On either side of the bomb are stapled two brass lion heads holding a brass curb chain mounted on a sky blue cloth core fitted with brass eyelets through which a sky blue lace passes to hold the cj -brass hat. Visor in black patent leather with folded brass bangle astride the outer edge, width of the visor in its center 5.5 cm, width of the bangle 1 cm. Inner cap in black waxed leather cut into wolf teeth with brass eyelet.
H of hairstyle 23 cm.
“Weeping willow” plume in scarlet rooster feathers, H approximately 32 cm. Half-spherical pompom in scarlet wool thistle, diameter 5.5 cm mounted on wood with iron rod bent in half for hanging.
Very good condition, interior cover in poor condition with gaps, probably not his.

SNOWSHOE CORD
In scarlet wool ending in two snowshoes with soft fringed pompom, complete with its brass carabiner.
Very good state.

UNIFORM "KURTKA"
Kurtka in white cloth buttoning straight at the front with seven bone buttons, sky blue piping, straight collar in sky blue cloth closing with two metal clasps, pointed facings in sky blue cloth, trimmed with two small module uniform buttons (diameter 1.7 cm), in half-bell brass stamped in relief with an imperial eagle. Left chest pocket (outside, but covered by the bib).
Back with belt tab in white cloth piped in sky blue and lined at its base with an ocher sheepskin, garnished at the top with a small module button. Rolled up in sky blue cloth, false vertical pockets forming three points, piped in sky blue, each point completed with a large module uniform button, diameter 2 cm. Four large module buttons are attached at the waist. Shoulder straps in scarlet wool braid woven “cul de dé” mounted on white cloth. Breastplate in sky blue cloth for the full outfit lined with white cloth. This breastplate is attached to either side of the kurtka using fourteen uniform buttons.
Interior lining in ecru canvas with black ink marking of the Lancers regiment, an imperial crown followed by the inscription “LANC”, registration number “1119”.
Very good condition despite a few moth holes and stains, the buttons are authentic, some resewn.

SHOULDER PAULETTES
In scarlet wool with soft fringes, lined with white cloth registered in ink like the kurtka “D 1119”.
Good condition, the scarlet wool part is in very good condition, linings with moth holes and gaps in the sheet.

AGUILLETTES
double scarlet wool cord, braided on the last half and finished with brass berets.
Fixing tab under the right shoulder pad in dark blue clothL.
Very good condition, the tab has either been changed later, or the artillery needle.

COMMEMORATIVE MEDAL OF THE ITALIAN CAMPAIGN, created in 1859
Round in shape, in silver, engraving by Barre, representing on the obverse the effigy of the Emperor crowned with laurel, framed by the legend “NAPOLEON III EMPEREUR” and bordered by a laurel wreath. On the reverse, inscription “ITALY CAMPAIGN - 1859” framing the name of the battles of “MONTEBELLO, PALESTRO, TURBIGO, MAGENTA, MARIGNAN, SOLFERINO”. Diameter 3 cm.
Scarlet ribbon with white stripes.
Very good state.

GIBERNE
Black leather box H 7 cm, L 18 cm; brass sides each hallmarked “Delahaussee” with double-jointed tenons and copings of the same metal. H 6.8 cm, L 3.5 cm, thickness 1.5 cm.
The tab in strong black patent leather, framed by a brass rod 0.6 cm wide and carries, in the middle, a brass plaque embossed with a radiant sun with in its center the Great Imperial Arms (H of the plate 6.9 cm, width 12.6 cm). The tab measures 9.7 cm in height, with a maximum width of 22 cm (unlike the Garde Cuirassiers whose width was 18 cm). The back of the tab is hot stamped with the number “826”, dated 1857 “57” is from the Lanciers Regiment with the imperial crown followed by “L”.
Banner in white buffalo stitched on the edges (width 6 cm), composed of a slightly curved strip on its flat and a loop joined by a rectangular buckle (width 7 cm, H 5.8 cm) with cut corners with copper loop and a fleuron (width 6 cm, H 4.5 cm) of the same metal at the floating ends of the band. Four double copper knobs for assembly. on the front, an imperial crown stamped in brass is joined to a radiant sun struck by an eagle, by means of three small curb chains with pins. At the back, it is hot stamped with the date of entry into service 1856 “56”, the regiment of assignment “LANCIERS” and the number “619”.
In a perfect state.
