Sky blue cloth headband, H 4.5 cm, decorated on the front with a hunting horn cut from madder cloth and sewn (H 3.5 cm, L 6.3 cm). Headdress and cap in madder cloth with soutaches in sky blue wool cord. Leather chin strap held to the kepi by two pewter half-bell buttons.
Strong leather visor in square shape L 6.5 cm. Interior of black satin hairstyle with paper label stuck under the cap, it is white with a black background printed “CHAPELLERIE / C. Haillecourt / RUE ST JEAN 17 / NEUFCHÂTEAU”.

Good condition, some wear on the soutaches, interior leather band missing.

The kepis troop of mounted hunters are worn until exhaustion in Algeria, and in Mexico by the 12th regiment of Chasseur.
