KÉPI OF A CHASSEUR À CHEVAL LIEUTENANT, circa 1852-1868, Second Empire. 27011
Headband in dark green cloth, H 3 cm, decorated on the front with a hunting decor embroidered directly on the headband in silver cinnamon (fancy). Headdress and cap in madder cloth with flat silver braids, two horizontal ones identifying the rank, one vertical on the four sides, and one on the cap forming a Hungarian knot (cap framed by a flat silver braid).
Square visor in black patent leather lined with dark green morocco, trimmed with a black lacquered calfskin band folded astride the outer edge. Interior of headdress in gold satin, interior headband in ocher calfskin with silk lace on the upper edge.

NOTE :
From the 1868 model the headband becomes blue.
The first model with a light green headband is very rare; we currently only know of one troop kepi copy of this model.
