POLICE HAT TROOP OF THE FOOT HUNTER BATTALION OF THE IMPERIAL GUARD, 1860 gusset model, Second Empire. 26845

Hat body in dark blue cloth with daffodil piping placed on the vertical seams and on the middle of the faces. These pipings come together on the right side to form a point whose apex reaches the bottom of the hat.
Two side flaps of elliptical shape, in dark blue cloth, bordered on their convex development with braid and piping in daffodil cloth; these two pieces are sewn to the bottom of the hat and are connected together at each end by a seam, folding down as desired. The flaps are sewn and attached to the body at the top using a black lacquered metal clip.
On the front, in the curvilinear angle formed by the recess of the two flaps, a pomegranate surrounded by a hunting horn embroidered in daffodil wool is sewn (H 4.7 cm, width 4 cm). Interior cover entirely in ecru canvas. H of flaps 11.5 cm. Total height 15 cm.
At the top of the front point, wool pompom with daffodil head and fringes.
