Star with five white enameled double rays with silver-gilt buttoned tips, diameter 6.2 cm. Surrounded by a vegetal crown formed by a branch of oak and laurel leaves linked between the lower points, enhanced with translucent green enamel, H 3.6 cm, width 3.3 cm. Center in two parts, obverse side effigy of the Republic head turned to the sinister on a sandblasted background, bordered by a deep blue enameled listel with the legend “FRENCH REPUBLIC – 1870”. On the reverse side, two crossed tricolor enameled French flags bordered by a blue listel with the motto “HONEUR ET PATRIE”.
Bail made of a crown of two branches of oak and laurel leaves, connected by links.
Scarlet ribbon.
