PAIR OF DIVISION GENERAL'S EPAULETS, Third Republic. 27176
They are embroidered with twists and gold sequins. The body is embroidered with a design depicting a V-shaped stick braid bordered by a scalloped framing strip on black velvet; its crest is decorated with a shield garnished with three silver stars. The fringes are in large matte twists. The outline is made up of three turns: a large one in matte satin and shiny yarn rolled alternately on a cotton core; a second, interior, in small twisted matte Milanese, mixed with another simple shiny one; a third, of the same work, is applied below the thick one, at the beginning of the fringe. Uniform button 1872 (half-curved, burnished and matt gold, stamped in relief with the arms of general officers, plumed helmet surmounting a shield stamped with a star on a background of bundle of lictors and flags), fixed at the top of the epaulette body with a strong gilded brass clasp.
The shoulder pads are presented in their wooden carrying box covered in green paper and lined with crimson velvet.
