POLICE HAT OF AN OFFICER OF DRAGONS OF THE IMPERIAL GUARD, model 1854, Second Empire. 26911

In dark green cloth, scarlet piping, braid woven in gilded silver, crest embroidered in gilded silver thread in the shape of a pomegranate.
Body of cap in dark green cloth with corded piping in gilded silver trimmings with the exception of the piping highlighting the rank braid which is in scarlet cloth. These pipings come together on the right side to form a point whose apex reaches the bottom of the hat.
Two side flaps of elliptical shape in dark green cloth bordered on their convex development with a golden braid (width 3 cm); these two elliptical shaped pieces are sewn to the body of the hat.
On the front, in the curvilinear angle formed by the recess of the two flaps, a bright pomegranate embroidered in gilded silver thread is sewn (H 4.2 cm, width 2.5 cm). At the front corner of the crown of the cap, a pompom in gilded silver trimmings with tassel and soft fringes called well ropes is attached.
Inner cap entirely in scarlet waxed calfskin, complete with its leather chin strap.

Fairly good condition, trimmings with oxidation from use, moth holes, accidents and repairs mainly in the lower part of the hat.
