Patent on black printed vellum with handwritten parts, with the arms of the knight Jean Roux Brun: gold with a bend gules, charged with the sign of the legionary knights, accompanied in chief by a lion sable, army and lampas gules, and , at the tip, of an anchor in a strip of sand. Qualified Knight of the Empire by letters patent of February 13, 1811, signed Napoleon (facsimile), as military leader of naval movements at the port of Nantes.

Scarlet wax seal, diameter 12 cm, representing the Emperor “NAPOLEON EMPEREUR OF THE FRENCH”. Green and red silk ribbons.

BIOGRAPHY :
ROUX Jean (1749-1829), was born on April 9, 1749, in Irancy (Yonne). He spent his entire military career in the Navy and became a senior officer then frigate captain. Roux died on November 1, 1829. He rests with his wife, born Marie-Louise de La Mothe, who died in 1822 and is buried in the Père Lachaise cemetery.
He was named knight of the Legion of Honor (June 14, 1804), then knight of the order of Saint-Louis under the Restoration.
