MARINE OFFICER'S SABER AND BELT, Third Republic. 28476
Gilded brass frame signed under the guard “P BACRIS” (?), and number “276”. Guard with two branches forming a shell at the front decorated and openwork with a marine anchor on a background of reeds and oak leaves. Long-tailed cap decorated with floral motifs. Horn handle. Slightly curved white blade with gutters and hollow sides, rounded counter-edging, back with rush signed “COULEAUX & Cie Klingenthal”, length 70.5 cm. Black patent leather scabbard with three gilded brass fittings. Chapde decorated with a marine anchor with button at the top for wearing on the belt and eyebolt with bail ring. Plain central trim with eyebolt and bail ring. Plain bouterolle with molded dart of scallops and foliage.
MARINE OFFICER'S SABER BELT, model 1853, Third Republic.
In dark blue waxed leather covered with a blue silk braid with four gold threads (H of the belt 3.6 cm). Oval plate in gilded brass stamped with a marine anchor surrounded by a laurel branch and an oak branch (H 4.5 cm, width 3.8 cm). Saber holder attached to the belt by means of gold metal rings with suspension straps (width 2 cm), they are in blue silk with two gold stripes.
JUNIOR OFFICER'S DRESS STRAP. Entirely in gold trimmings with soft fringes called “well ropes”.

Average condition, gilding of the saber absent, blade with some oxidation, leather of the scabbard unstitched on its rear side part having shrunk slightly, belt in very good condition, wrist strap in poor condition with missing trimmings at the tassel.
