Entirely in dark sky blue cloth (headband, headdress and crown). The headband is trimmed with five rank braids in alternating gold and silver flat braids. Cap decorated with a Hungarian knot composed of three golden braids and one amaranth braid. The outer edge of the cap is bordered with a golden braid highlighted with an amaranth braid. False chinstrap in gold braid with half-bell buttons in gold brass. Visor in black patent leather lined with green waxed morocco with black leather band folded astride the outer edge and sewn. Interior headband in black morocco.

Good condition, usual oxidation on the trimmings, wear and stronger oxidation on the trimmings of the crown, a few moth holes in the sheet, silk part of the interior cap missing, two folds at the visor, some losses to the grain of the leather of the visor.
NOTE :
Spahis kepis from the Second Empire period are rare.
