TRUMPET SABRETACHE OR CHASSEUR À CHEVAL MUSICIAN OF THE IMPERIAL GUARD, model 1854, Second Empire. 3840
Sabretache in black patent leather with back of the tab hot-dated 1866, with the inscription “BAUDOUIN FRERES”, and hot-marked “842”. Interior pocket lined in black canvas, H 25 cm, 17.8 cm wide at the top and 22.5 cm at the bottom. Flap covered in scarlet cloth with folded and saddle-stitched bleached leather band on the outer edge. White wool framing braid, width 3 cm. A brass plate stamped in relief and cut with the Great Imperial Arms is fixed in its center by means of a lace, H 17 cm, width 12.8 cm.
H of the sabretache 29 cm, width at the top 19.5 cm, width at the bottom 26.8 cm.
It is completed with three half-oval brass suspension rings (oval part at the top). It is complete with its three suspension straps in bleached calfskin, 2 cm wide, stitched on each side, with brass buckles.
