DOLMAN OF FIRST CLASS MUSICIAN OF THE GUIDES OF THE IMPERIAL GUARD, Second Empire. 27082
Dolman model 1855 in scarlet cloth, golden yellow braids and braids, facings in dark green cloth topped with a golden “cul de dice” braid sewn into a point (1.5 cm wide), itself topped with two braids of gilded silver woven with sticks (2 cm wide). Scarlet collar with golden yellow soutache and silver gilt braid with sticks. It buttons at the front with 18 braids garnished with five smooth brass half-bell buttons. Back decorated with a Hungarian knot in golden yellow wool soutache and the back seams are covered with a braid framed with soutaches. Interior lining in ecru canvas dated 2nd quarter 1856, registered “1629”. Interior belt in ocher leather.

Very good condition, metal trimmings with usual oxidation.
NOTE :
The 1.5 cm wide gold braid above the facings indicates the position of musician, the two braids above give the rank of 1st class.
