Polished brass frame. Guard with four branches and tray, main branch signed by Versailles with “B” hallmarks of J.J.C. Office, director from February 1812 to July 1813, and the “LF” hallmark of J. B. Le Febvre, reviser in July 1807 then controller from January 1811 to December 1913. Short-tail cap and brass ferrule on wooden handle covered in calfskin and brass filigree. Flat, straight blade 95.5 cm long, hallmarked with the lictors' beam and the “AP” hallmark from the Paris workshop. Black patent leather scabbard with three brass fittings with scalloped edges, steel rings. Cope hallmarked “J.C” by J. Cazamajou, reviser at the Versailles factory from 1803 to August 1806 then from January 1809 to September 1811 and “N”, supposed hallmark of N. Nottret (?), director from April 1816 to September 1818.
