Hat body in dark blue cloth with piping in daffodil wool cords. These pipings come together on the right side to form a point whose apex reaches the bottom of the hat.
Two elliptical-shaped side flaps in dark green cloth bordered on their convex development with a daffodil wool braid (width 2.8 cm); these two elliptical shaped pieces are sewn to the body of the hat.
On the front, in the curvilinear angle drawn by the recess of the two flaps, a bright pomegranate is sewn into a hunting horn embroidered in daffodil wool threads (H 5 cm, width 4.5 cm).
At the front corner of the peak of the cap, a pompom with a scarlet tassel and daffodil fringe is attached, indicating the second regiment, according to the regulations of April 16, 1859.
Interior headdress entirely in black waxed sheepskin, with leather tab bearing ink stamps dated 3rd quarter 1859, registered “5807” and the marking of the regiment “Gde Ile 2evrs”.
