Cardboard barrel covered with a fine dark blue, almost black cloth bordered at the top with a woven lizard braid in silver trimmings (width 3 cm), at the bottom with a bourdalou in black patent leather (width 2.6 cm) , black patent leather cap (diameter 13 cm). On each side of the barrel and at the back, a small braid of silver trimmings connects the bourdalou to the upper braid. Tinplate cockade embossed with a tricolor lacquered radiant sun, diameter 6 cm. Round black patent leather visor, green oilskin underneath.
Silver-plated copper plaque stamped in relief in the shape of an uncrowned eagle (head to sinister) placed on the sparkling spindle of Jupiter with branches of oak and laurel and in the center an oval-shaped shield decorated with an attached gilded brass lyre and stapled. Complete plate with its rear threaded rod for fixing. H 10 cm, width 10.5 cm.
Inner cap in black waxed calfskin cut into seven wolf teeth with iron-gilded edges. Shako lined with scarlet paper.
Double tricolor wool pompom.

Very good condition, some small moth holes on the barrel sheet.
NOTE :
unlike the National Guard plates where the eagle's head is turned to the dexter, for the musicians the head is to the sinister as for the line army.
