HORSE ARTILLERY TRUMPET DOLMAN OF THE IMPERIAL GUARD, model 1856, Second Empire. 28309
Dolman entirely in white cloth, closing straight at the front with 18 brass bell buttons struck with two crossed cannons topped with the imperial crown and with a flaming bomb in the lower part. It is trimmed with 18 braids of scarlet wool with five rows of buttons. The back is decorated at the top with a Hungarian knot in scarlet piping. The seams and false pockets are trimmed on each side with piped scarlet braid. Uniform collar with tricolor woven braid (blue-white-red). Madder cloth facings edged with a tricolor woven wool braid forming a point. Interior lining in ecru canvas marked with a “VC” ink stamp, regimental date and number stamps partly insolated, difficult to read. Interior waist belt in ocher calfskin.

Good condition, white sheet with a few small minimal moth holes, a few black spots on the right shoulder, inside of the left sleeve with a scarlet halo, a few stitches on the red braids unstitched, some buttons resewn old, worn inside belt with a few shortages.
NOTE :
Trumpet dolmans for artillery are common to horse and foot artillery, with five rows of buttons while foot artillery troop dolmans are with three rows of buttons, and horse dolmans with five rows of buttons.
