DOLMAN OF CHASSEUR À CHEVAL OF THE IMPERIAL GUARD, Second Empire. 28308
Dolman model 1857, entirely in green cloth, closing straight at the front with 18 pewter bell buttons stamped with the crowned imperial eagle. The front is trimmed with 18 braids of white wool with five rows of buttons. The back is decorated at the top with a Hungarian knot in white piping. The seams and false pockets are trimmed on each side with white piped braid. Cloth collar of the white braided uniform. Madder cloth facings edged with a white wool braid forming a point. Interior lining in ecru canvas bearing the ink stamps of the regiment: imperial crown, followed by the inscription "Ch. de la G", dated 1st quarter 1868, registered "1549" and "89..." (illegible). Interior waist belt in brown morocco.
