Cowhide body covered with a dark blue cloth sleeve. Elliptical shaped cap in black patent cow leather. Round visor in strong cowhide, 4mm thick, lined with green patent leather. On the sides and back, daffodil wool soutaches, black lacquered metal vents. Bourdalou in black patent leather. Daffodil wool braid around the upper edge of the headdress, cul-de-dé style, 2 cm wide. Tinplate cockade stamped in tricolor colors (diameter 4.1 cm) held to the body by means of a half-spherical brass button. Loop made of two strands of square braid in daffodil wool, 4mm wide. Stamped brass front badge representing a flaming bomb (H 5.4 cm). Interior black patent leather headband 6.5 cm high. Complete with its black patent leather chin strap. paper label stuck below the cap with black ink stamp “… de L” / “AUGUST 15, 1883” / registered “329”
Pompom composed of four elements: scarlet wool thistle flame, D 45 mm; small scarlet and shell wool collar, H 6mm, D 7mm; wooden sphere covered in dark blue cloth with woolen cord at its junction, it is decorated with the number 2 in cut-out brass, D 30 mm; bolted iron rod, H 50mm.
