SPANISH SWORD CALLED TAZA SWORD, Late 17th - Early 18th century. 25875AJC
Iron frame. Guard with a twisted branch and two large quillons also twisted and ending with a button, width at the quillons 21.5 cm. Half-spherical cup (shell), diameter 12.5 cm, pierced with a wide band with floral decoration and foliage, twisted edge curved into a breakwater (rumpe puntas), ringlets riveted to the inside of the cup by the through its openwork tray. Twisted “flattened onion” pommel. Wooden rocket entirely filigreed with silver braiding (basket) reinforced with a copper collar. Blade with heel, double edge and central groove on the first half, then flat to the tip, length 83 cm. Iron reinforcement on one side of the ricasso visible on the heel. Total length 100 cm.
