AUSTRIAN BAYONET FOR LORENZ RIFLE MODEL 1854 AND WANZL RIFLE MODEL 1862 AND 1867, 19th century. 27953-51R

Square-section blade, socket with a unique fixing system with a helical slot, in use in Austria and Bavaria, but with typical Austrian regimental markings at the elbow. Square-shaped barrel bands. With typical Austrian inspection proof marks.

Very good condition. Missing scabbard.

Lorenz rifles manufactured in Austria between 1854 and 1867 were used during the American Civil War (1861-1865), with 225,000 used by the Union and 100,000 used by the Confederacy, as well as during the Austro-Prussian War (1866).
