INFANTRY OFFICER'S SWORD OF THE IMPERIAL GUARD, model 1860, Second Empire.
Gilded bronze frame. Guard decorated with an N under imperial crown placed on a radiant background with sparkling Jupiter spindle. Keyboard forming a tray molded in relief of the Great Imperial Arms, quillon decorated with a palmette, rear folding keyboard bearing in relief the inscription "IMPERIAL GUARD" placed on an oak branch and a laurel branch. Pommel decorated with the imperial eagle with outstretched wings. Silver filigree horn fuse. Counter-keyboard punched in an oval with a marine anchor separating the initials “G M”. Strong triangular blade, white, engraved on the heel “Mre Imple de Chatt / o de la garde / mle 1860”, length 79.9 cm.
