Body of the shako entirely sheathed in small blackened, grained and varnished cowhide, including the cap diameter 12 cm, it is in the shape of a truncated oblique cone, H at the front 12 cm, H on the sides 13.5 cm, H at the back with the curvature 19 cm. Braid at the top of the shako, bourdalou and the two bands forming an inverted V on each side, in black patent leather. Square visor in black patent leather with green waxed underside, width 4 cm. Tricolor metal cockade (white is silver), diameter 5 cm. Gilt brass plaque stamped in relief with the imperial eagle holding in its claws a bomb cut out with the number “3” with sparkling Jupiter spindle; H 12.5 cm. Inner headdress composed of a band of black waxed leather bordered with a golden net in the upper part, and sheathed in iron-gilded scarlet silk under the cap "BROUEAU Boulevard de Sébastopol 170 PARIS".
Daffodil rooster feather plume with white top mounted on a rib reinforced with a metal rod, with golden brass tulip pompom, H 7 cm. Apparent height of feathers 17 cm, total height 29 cm.
