Cardboard barrel covered with black taupe felt garnished at the top with a lizard-woven silver trimmings braid (width of the braid 2.5 cm), and at the bottom with a black velvet bourdalou, H 3 cm. H of barrel 15.4 cm at the front and 20.5 cm at the rear. Black patent leather cap, diameter 14 cm. Metal roundel stamped with a radiant sun, tricolor lacquered, diameter 5.7 cm. Visor in black patent leather, green waxed inside, width 6 cm.
Front plate in silvered copper representing the rooster with outstretched wings placed on a globe, against a background of a bundle of flags and a bundle of lictors with crossed hands and a ribbon bearing the inscription “FRENCH REPUBLIC”. H 12 cm, width 12 cm.
Silver-plated copper chinstraps each composed of a round rosette stamped with a flaming bomb (also called a grenade), and a leather chin strap covered in velvet covered with a plate stamped in relief with a decreasing series of scalloped scales , finished with a black patent leather strap. Length of chinstraps 18 cm, diameter of rosettes 4.5 cm. Inner cap in black varnished sheepskin cut into eight wolf teeth, barrel entirely lined with scarlet paper. On the lining of the barrel, a white label printed in black is marked “CHEVILLIARD / ETAMPES”.
