INFANTRY OFFICER'S BELT PLATE, model 1848, Second Republic, Presidency of Louis-Napoléon Bonaparte, 1848-1852. 28240

Rectangular brass tray with cut edges, H 5.8 cm, width 5.2 cm. It is decorated in its center with a silver metal motif representing the rooster placed on two bundles of lictors, a triangle, crossed hands and a ribbon bearing the motto “FRENCH REPUBLIQUE”. It is complete at the rear with its trigger guard and hook, and it is lined with a green waxed sheepskin.
