LIGHT CAVALRY SABER SIGNED FROM THE MANUFACTURE OF VERSAILLES, model Year XI (1802), First Empire. 28217
Brass frame. Hunter's guard with three lateral branches. Main branch signed Versailles, registered “1118”, hallmarked “B” in an oval of J.J.C. Office, director from February 1812 to July 1813. Quillon stamped “V” and marked “234”. Hallmarked cap with long tail. Wooden handle covered in black waxed calfskin. Curved blade with hollow sides, 87.5 cm long, the back of which is inscribed with “Mfture Impale du Klingenthal June 1813”. On the heel, the starry “K” hallmarks of the inspector then director J.I. Krantz (March 1812 to August 1814), the "B" surrounded by a laurel branch of the first class controller J.G. Bick from 1812 to May 1815 and the mark "L" reviser F.L. Lobstein (June 1811 to July 1821). Iron scabbard with wooden pads and half-round bail bracelets.
